Skirt with Scallops, Modern Take
I liked this pattern so much, I decided to make a modern version for wearing to the office. I shortened it to knee length, used bias on the scallops, as the pattern directed, and moved the scallops from the left front to the right. I used a 9” zipper for ease of wear.
My fabric is a cotton twill weave with a 3% stretch in medium brown. The bias tape was made from the same fabric as the original skirt, a cotton/rayon blend in a dark brown. The buttons are a 3/8” dark brown glass with a shank.
I used the pattern as altered for the first version I made.
Here’s a photo essay on making the bias tape for the modern skirt.
