Mantle

My mantle is finished–except for the trim.
When I enroled in this project, I intended to use ONLY fabric from my stash for the garments. That was before I found a cotton-blend pretend-burn-out velvet / brocade that I just had to have. (The fabric really isn’t as ugly as I just made it sound!)
I added 1/2″ to each of the seams to give me the ease I needed. The Mantle pattern went together very easily.
I sewed in this order:
center-back seam; front shaping darts; gussets to front; gussets to back; side seams; sleeve seams.
It is lined with stash fabric left over from flower-girl dresses,1987.
Photos will follow. (It’s a new camera)
