In an attempt to lighten both Janyce’s and Kim’s load, I will be writing a few posts under the heading category ”Blogging How-To” subcategory “Blogging” to help point those who need blogging help to the places they should be able to find answers. (Notice the “posted by” just under this page’s title at the top – I’m Brooke. *wave*)
First things first – bookmark the page you are currently reading to your Favorites for easy reference.
I will go into detail on a few more specific topics in some posts in the future, but for now this is your “crash course” with useful links to get you started.
Below are some of the links that allowed me to teach myself to blog back in 2010. Screen shots and videos are included on most of them. =)

Almost everything you ever wanted to know about blogging (and then some) can be found on the support page link above. And the support page search box is your best friend if you don’t see what you are looking for immediately!
Here are a few other shortcuts you may want:
Administrator, Editor, Author, and Contributor User roles explained
Dashboard (aka “blog control panel”) general details explained (Note: Because most of us are just considered “contributing writers” on this blog, you may not have access to everything you see on the dashboard.)
User profile – your personal info/picture and how it is displayed to others on the internet (Everyone, whether you are new to blogging or not, should definitely read this info about your profile!)
Introduction to WordPress and blogging (Probably more useful to those who want to or have just set up their own personal blog through WordPress.)
Well, that’s it for now – have fun exploring the help files & videos that the wonderful WordPress tech team has provided! I’ll be back with another “blogging how to” post when I have time in a few days. =)
Thanks for the easy tips all in one place to remember – bookmarked for sure! Who do you do costumes for? I knew some Disney costumers a while back, it’s a small world after all…
Glad you found the post helpful!
I’m a freelance costumer in Texas (like everyone I know in the local film business). You can learn a little more about me on my blog’s bio page and see some of my personal projects in the posts under the “blog tab” at the top of my site. =)
Hi, I am also a volunteer for the 1912 Titanic project and also from Dallas, TX!!! I am in group 31. Have received the Princess slip pattern and finished it last week. My blog is http://patshowcase.blogspot.com/
I read your blog on the slip and you did a great job!
Brooke: Thank you for all the info! I’ll be reviewing the links as I get ready to blog. In the meantime may I make a request? (And possibly this should go to Kim.) Could your posts be entered under one of the headings at the top of the page – either Technical or Participants? I’m finding it very difficult to maneuver around this blog. The “Recent Posts” listings in the right hand column change too frequently when people get chatty or when one doesn’t check in more than once a day. I am on a “feed” list but I’m sure many in this huge group are unaware of this option. It would be nice if the blog stood alone as a resource but right now Facebook seems to be the best avenue for staying up to date and there is wayyyy too much talk to wade through over there!

Not complaining, just trying to offer some constructive criticism.
Yes, I totally understand the confusion with the blog navigation – something I have been very meticulous about on my blog. I’ve already put in a request to Kim about the new category (she had previously said she would put it at the top), so now I’m just waiting for her to get it up there for me.
I plan to address some of the comment mess in my next post. (It’s been driving me crazy as well!)
I may see how much access I’ve been given and try to organize/clean-up what I can, since I know Kim is having trouble keeping up with the sheer number of people involved.
I see seperate blots for the patterns but I do not see one for the Duster
